Mustafa Discusses with the President of the Islamic Development Bank Group Ways to Support Economic Development and Recovery Projects in Palestine

SadaNews - Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa discussed ways to support economic development and recovery projects in Palestine during his meeting with the President of the Islamic Development Bank Group, Dr. Mohammad Al-Suleiman Al-Jasser, today, Monday, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, in the presence of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Abdul Razak Natsheh, and the Palestinian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mazen Ghneim.

Mustafa appreciated the support provided by the Islamic Development Bank Group to Palestine in various fields, including economic development, health, education, providing assistance to needy families, and developing infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of doubling this support in the upcoming period, given the difficult situation faced by our people, especially in the Gaza Strip, in order to recover, create job opportunities, and strengthen the economy, along with projects for rehabilitating infrastructure and basic service facilities.

The government has submitted a list of projects to be approved by the administrative committee of the Al-Aqsa Fund, funded by Arab and Islamic funds managed by the Islamic Development Bank as the manager of the Al-Aqsa Fund. This includes the development of the education sector and the infrastructure of schools, as well as the construction sector to rehabilitate and pave several roads to enhance communication between the governorates and facilitate the movement of citizens. It also includes support for vocational training centers under the Ministry of Labor to train young men and women in the refugee camps on technical, technological, and digital skills, in addition to local governance projects for road rehabilitation in several towns and providing various services in the areas of water, sewage, electricity, and home renovation.

It is worth noting that the Islamic Bank supports the construction and equipping of Khalid Al-Hassan Hospital / Phase One, for which an agreement was signed several months ago, and it is in the technical procedures necessary to commence project implementation. It is noted that the bank previously provided a benevolent loan to assist small and medium enterprises through the Monetary Authority. Currently, work is underway on developing a new project aimed at providing renewable energy to the camps in the West Bank in collaboration with the Energy Authority.
