"Statistics": Decline in the Cost of Building, Roads, and Water and Sewage Network Price Indexes Last Month
SadaNews - The Central Bureau of Statistics announced a decline in the price index of costs for building, roads, and water and sewage networks in the West Bank during the month of September.
In a statement issued today, Sunday, regarding this matter, it clarified that the costs of construction for residential buildings recorded a decline of 0.69% during the monitored month, compared to the previous month; the index decreased to 119.77, compared to 120.60 during August 2025.
At the level of major groups, the prices of labor costs and wages recorded a decline of 1.76%, and the prices of raw materials recorded a slight decrease of 0.05%, while the prices for renting equipment saw a slight increase of 0.01% during September, compared to the previous month.
The prices for construction costs of non-residential buildings decreased by 0.67%, with the index for construction costs of non-residential buildings falling to 118.63, compared to 119.43 during August.
In terms of main categories, the prices of labor and wages recorded a decline of 1.76%, and the prices of raw materials recorded a slight drop of 0.04%, while the prices for renting equipment saw a slight increase of 0.02% during September 2025 compared to the previous month.
Prices for construction costs of skeleton buildings recorded a decrease of 48.0%; as the index for construction costs of skeleton buildings fell to 117.06, compared to 117.62 during August 2025.
At the level of categories, prices for labor and wages recorded a decline of 1.26%, and prices for raw materials registered a slight decrease of 0.06%, while prices for renting equipment saw a slight rise of 0.01%.
The prices for road construction of various types recorded a decline of 0.18%; with the overall price index for road costs dropping to 114.25 during the monitored month, compared to 114.45 in the previous month.
At the major groups level, prices for labor and wages recorded a decline of 2.44%, and prices for equipment operation and maintenance saw a decrease of 0.51%, while prices for renting equipment recorded a decline of 0.33%, whereas the prices for raw materials increased by 0.32% during September 2025 compared to the previous month.
The prices for construction costs of water networks decreased by 1.18%; the price index for water network construction costs fell to 127.27, compared to 128.79 during the previous month.
In terms of water network prices, the index recorded a decline of 1.58%, falling to 133.07, compared to 135.20 during August, while prices for water tanks decreased by 0.16%, with the index falling to 114.49, compared to 114.68 during the previous month.
Additionally, the prices for constructing sewage networks recorded a decline of 1.07%, as the index decreased to 116.09, compared to 117.34 during August 2025.
