Wholesale Prices in Palestine Rise by 4.10% During the Third Quarter of 2025

SadaNews - The general index of wholesale prices in Palestine recorded an increase of 4.10% during the third quarter of 2025 compared to the second quarter of 2025, as the prices of locally produced and consumed goods rose by 6.95%, while the prices of imported goods increased by 2.33%. This is attributed to the rising price levels in the Gaza Strip due to the aggression of the Israeli occupation on the area, where goods from the sector make up 17% of the total basket of goods and services in wholesale.

Wholesale prices for goods within the wholesale trade sector, excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles, rose by 4.39%, which constitutes 89% of wholesale trade. Wholesale selling prices increased for several categories as follows: fish, meat, and their products by 27.71%, grain and seed products by 19.70%, dairy and egg products by 19.27%, live animals by 18.73%, gaseous fuel types by 17.29%, beverages by 10.13%, household items by 9.18%, shoes by 7.79%, liquid fuel types by 6.82%, fabrics by 3.74%, furnishings by 3.70%, and fruits and vegetables by 1.84%.

In contrast, wholesale selling prices decreased for several categories as follows: animal and vegetable oils and fats decreased by 10.30%, agricultural waste and remnants used as feed for animals by 9.52%, lubricating oils and fats by 3.56%, metals and metal ores by 1.31%, and waste, scrap, and other unclassified wholesale products decreased by 1.08%.
The wholesale and retail trade sector, including the repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, saw an increase of 0.72%, which constitutes 11% of wholesale trade, as wholesale or retail prices for new vehicles rose by 1.34%, and prices for maintenance and repair of motor vehicles increased by 0.34%.
