
The Consumer Price Index in Israel Decreased Last Month
SadaNews Economics Translation - The Consumer Price Index in Israel decreased by 0.6% in September 2025 compared to August 2025.
According to the Consumer Protection Agency in Israel, over the past 12 months (September 2025 compared to September 2024), the Consumer Price Index rose by 2.5%.
Notable decreases were recorded in the prices of certain essentials, such as fresh fruits which fell by 3.2%, transportation and communications which decreased by 2.2%, food which dropped by 0.5%, clothing and footwear which declined by 0.3%, and housing services rented by tenants and home maintenance which each fell by 0.2%.
According to the report as translated by Sada's Economics Department, significant price increases were noted in essentials such as fresh vegetables which increased by 3.5%, and rent and health which rose by 0.3% each.
Meanwhile, rent saw an increase of 2.6% for tenants who renewed their contracts, and a rise of 5.3% for new tenants.
The construction input price index for housing increased by 5.1% due to a 9.3% rise in labor wages and a 2.1% rise in materials and products, while the price index for materials and products in September 2025 decreased by 0.2%.
The wage index for workers in the sector increased by 0.2% in September 2025.
The prices of refined oil products decreased by 3.3% and base metals decreased by 1.4%, while prices for computers, electronic and optical devices increased by 1.9% and clothing products rose by 9.4%.
