Monetary Authority Instructs Banks to Gradually Resume Banking Services in Gaza Starting Thursday
SadaNews - The Palestinian Monetary Authority has instructed the banks operating in the Gaza Strip to begin providing financial and banking services to the public starting tomorrow morning, Thursday, October 16, 2025, according to their operational and technical readiness.
The Monetary Authority confirmed that the process of reopening bank branches will be done gradually and in phases, with a limited number of branches operating initially based on their readiness, and further announcements will be made regarding additional branches that will enter into service according to rehabilitation plans.
The Monetary Authority urged citizens to continue relying on available electronic payment methods such as payment cards, e-wallets, and banking applications via smartphones, given the ease, security, and speed they provide for completing transactions and to ensure their needs are met without the need to crowd at branches.
