Ministry of Labor announces the disbursement of a new financial aid package to assist workers in Gaza, patients, and their companions in the northern governorates
SadaNews - As part of the Ministry of Labor's ongoing efforts and in collaboration with partners to support workers in Gaza, the 18th financial aid package will be disbursed to assist Gaza workers in the northern governorates. The Ministry of Labor, the World Food Program, and the Humanitarian Fund for the Palestinian Territories, through Catholic Relief Services, announced that today, the disbursement of cash assistance will begin for 4,596 workers from the Gaza Strip, who hold various types of permits and were forcibly laid off from their jobs within the Green Line following the Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7th, in addition to stranded patients and their companions who have been cut off and received at designated housing centers by the Palestinian government, represented by the Ministry of Labor in cooperation with all partners.
Minister of Labor Dr. Enas Al-Atari confirmed that the ministry continues its efforts with all partners to support and assist our workers in light of the economic circumstances and repercussions that the region is experiencing, which have resulted in workers losing their livelihoods. This aid is part of efforts to ensure the basic needs of Gaza workers in the northern governorates are met.
It is worth noting that this aid is part of the World Food Program and the Humanitarian Fund for the Palestinian Territories through Catholic Relief Services, providing 700 shekels for each worker through the PalPay network, where text messages will be sent to each worker's mobile phone.
