Assfour: Jenin Industrial Area is a National Project to Expand the Productive Base
SadaNews - Minister of Industry and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Palestinian Industrial Cities and Free Zones Authority, A. Arafat Assfour, held a meeting with the Turkish Commercial Attaché, Mr. Kuraï Birksoy, to discuss developments in the Jenin Free Industrial Zone, attended by the Acting CEO of the authority, Eng. Khaled Al-‘Amleh, the Minister's Advisor Dr. Maher Hashish, and the Operations Manager of the area, Eng. Osama Imran.
Assfour praised Turkey's supportive stance for Palestine in various fields, emphasizing that the project represents a strategic economic and industrial priority. He explained that in June, the infrastructure for an area of 420 dunams was handed over, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mohamed Mustafa. He clarified that the authority continues its efforts with the public and private sectors to accelerate the development of the area and attract investments in line with the Palestinian government's vision.
For his part, Eng. Khaled Al-‘Amleh stressed the authority's commitment to the approved development plans, indicating that the project will represent a qualitative leap for the Palestinian industrial sector in terms of development and operation according to international standards.
Meanwhile, Mr. Birksoy confirmed the continued support of the Turkish government for the project and investment attraction, pointing out that a meeting for Turkish businessmen will be held this month to encourage investment in the industrial area.
It is noteworthy that the project spans an area of 933 dunams, will be executed in three phases, and will provide more than 5,000 direct job opportunities upon completion, accommodating over 130 multi-disciplinary industrial companies.
