
The Governor of the Monetary Authority Discusses with the Canadian Representative Ways to Empower the Banking Sector to Fulfill its Roles and Responsibilities Amid Current Conditions
SadaNews - The Governor of the Monetary Authority, Yahya Shanar, met today at the Monetary Authority's headquarters with Canada's Representative to Palestine, Graham Datzel, in the presence of Deputy Governor Mohammed Manasra, and several directors and officials from both sides. They discussed ways to empower the banking sector to fulfill its role and basic responsibilities under the current circumstances.
The governor indicated that the Monetary Authority has taken a series of practical measures to mitigate the repercussions of the crises faced by the banking sector, with the aim of maintaining its stability and ensuring the continuity of banking services provided to citizens and various economic sectors.
Shanar emphasized the necessity of intensifying international efforts to enhance the banking sector's ability to perform its essential duties and vital role under the current conditions, affirming that the contribution of the international community, including Canada, is a fundamental pillar in strengthening the banking sector's capacity to perform its role efficiently.
For his part, the Canadian representative expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the Monetary Authority and its effective management of crises, confirming his country's interest in contributing to the stability of the Palestinian banking sector and enhancing economic development.
