Significant Growth in Profits of Companies Listed on the Palestine Stock Exchange During the First Half of 2025

SadaNews - The Palestine Stock Exchange announced that it has received the financial data for the first half of 2025 from 45 companies out of 48 listed on the exchange, by the end of the disclosure period granted by the Capital Market Authority on 17/08/2025. 35 of these companies showed an improvement in their results.

The financial data for the first half of 2025 revealed that the listed and disclosed companies achieved net profits amounting to approximately 145 million dollars compared to 75 million dollars for the same period in 2024, representing an increase of 93%.

Moreover, profitable companies constituted 80% of the total number of disclosed companies, with a total value of 151 million dollars, while 9 companies incurred losses amounting to approximately 7 million dollars, with a decrease in losses of 54%.

According to sectoral indicators in light of the presented results, the banking sector excelled with profits amounting to 46 million dollars by the end of the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year, 2024, with an increase of approximately 380%, in line with the outstanding financial performance of a number of leading banks that saw their profits more than double, namely: Bank of Palestine, Arab Islamic Bank, and Palestinian Islamic Bank.

The services sector achieved profits during the stated period amounting to 39 million dollars, making it second, with a 20% increase compared to the first half of 2024, which amounted to 32 million dollars. Following it, the investment sector reported profits of 29 million dollars compared to 19 million dollars for the same period last year, marking an increase of 58%.

The industrial sector ranked fourth with profits amounting to 24 million dollars compared to 8 million dollars in the first half of last year, representing an increase of 186%. Lastly, the insurance sector recorded profits of approximately 7 million dollars, an increase of 4% from the results of the first half of last year, which reached 6 million dollars.

Regarding the most profitable companies for the first half of 2025, Palestine Telecommunications ranked first with profits of 30.3 million dollars, while Bank of Palestine came in second with profits of approximately 29.6 million dollars. Arkan Real Estate Company followed in third place with profits of 14 million dollars, followed by Palestine Development and Investment Company (PADICO) in fourth place with profits of 11 million dollars, and Birzeit Pharmaceuticals ranked fifth with a value of 8 million dollars.

It should be noted that the conditions of aggression on the Gaza Strip prevented the Palestine Electric Company from submitting its financial data for the first half, and it has been suspended from trading by a decision of the Capital Market Authority since the outbreak of the aggression in October 2023, due to the significant damage to its facilities and assets in the sector. Additionally, Bal Iqar Company for Real Estate Development and Management and Nablus Specialized Surgical Center have yet to submit their first-half data as of now.
