Occupation approves entry of aid to Gaza through traders and the private sector

SadaNews Translation - The Coordination Unit for Government Activities in the Occupied Territories announced the approval of a new mechanism that allows goods to enter the Gaza Strip through a limited number of local traders, under strict security supervision and control.

The statement, as translated by SadaNews, said: "This step comes after a decision by the Security Cabinet to expand humanitarian aid to the sector, aiming to reduce reliance on UN agencies and international organizations, and to increase the quantities of goods entering Gaza."

Allowed goods will include basic food items, children's food, fruits and vegetables, along with hygiene supplies. Israeli security authorities confirmed that payment will be made only through bank transfers, under strict oversight and supervision.

The statement continued: "There will be strict inspections on all shipments before they enter the sector, while the army and security agencies will continue to monitor the process to ensure that Hamas does not interfere in the distribution of aid."
