Waseem Al-Jaabari to SadaNews: "The Ministry of Finance's statement was a quick response to the private sector's demands"
SadaNews - The Palestinian Ministry of Finance has issued a statement containing new instructions regarding the sealing of customs data in case the Tarqumiya crossing is closed due to its repeated long closures.
Regarding the importance of this statement, Waseem Al-Jaabari, the head of the Foodstuffs Union in Hebron, told SadaNews that "the issued instructions came after diligent efforts from private sector institutions communicating with the Ministry of Finance due to the repeated and prolonged closure of the Tarqumiya commercial crossing."

He pointed out the large quantity of goods entering Hebron Governorate, which is one of the largest Palestinian economic notes, emphasizing that the closure of the crossing leads to the accumulation of goods on the "Israeli side."
He continued, "This solution is satisfactory for us and the Ministry of Finance," pointing out that the economy of Hebron constitutes 46% of the economy of Palestine, and therefore, goods cannot be left accumulating on the other side; it was necessary to find a solution.
