Migration… The First Meeting of the Coming State

On the last night of the past Hijri year, just minutes before time left its office, an exceptional meeting was held.

Attendees:

Jerusalem.

Patience.

The Palestinian memory.

The souls of the martyrs.

And numerous postponed wishes.

As for despair…

It was not invited.

For reasons related to misconduct.

The meeting began with a brief speech delivered by Jerusalem.

It stood as it always does.

It has not sat for thousands of years.

It said:

"I am still here."

History applauded for a long time.

Then the souls of the martyrs spoke.

They did not ask for anything for themselves.

As usual.

For martyrs do not negotiate for their glory.

Nor do they demand seats in memory.

It suffices for them that they have become part of the nation's conscience.

Among them was a man whose keffiyeh still wanders in the corridors of the Palestinian dream, and whose old voice echoes in the nation's memory whenever someone tries to convince the Palestinians that the impossible is fate.

Then the souls returned to their heights…

After they were assured that Palestine still pulses.

As for the prisoners…

They arrived at the session late.

Not because the road was long.

But because the jailer insisted for the last time to keep the keys.

And he did not know that freedom is not opened with keys at all.

They said:

"Do not rush the time.

For chains know more than anyone else that iron does not live forever."

So the sky recorded this statement in the minutes of the session.

And one seat remained empty.

It was the seat of the future.

Everyone awaited it.

Then it entered quietly.

It did not wear a formal suit.

Nor did it carry a diplomatic briefcase.

It only carried a promise.

It sat.

Then it opened a very old book.

A book read by the prophets.

And preserved by the righteous.

And passed down by the believers from generation to generation.

On one of its pages, the traces of the steps of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) were still clear, as if migration had not left the path yet, and as if the cave was still whispering to the weary nations that patience is not a waiting station, but the first brick in building states.

And it pointed to one verse:

﴿وَكَانَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنَا نَصْرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴾

Silence prevailed.

That silence does not resemble fear.

But resembles certainty.

In a corner of the hall, there were men who still guarded the story with long patience.

They know that homelands are not built by shouting.

Nor are they protected by agitation.

But by a long breath.

And by determination that does not age.

And by faith that the divine promise only requires us to remain standing until its time arrives.

And among them was a man who still carried the key of the State of Palestine in his political pocket, and continued to walk towards it no matter how the winds changed, as if the years had increased his certainty that the story has not ended yet.

When the meeting concluded…

Palestine inquired about the final statement.

So history answered her:

"The following has been approved:

First: Renewing trust in the great Palestinian people, the bearer of the story, the guardian of the narrative, and the heir of the land and hope.

Second: Considering national unity a necessity that cannot be postponed, and postponing everything that divides the Palestinians to an indefinite future.

Third: Renewing the covenant to protect the Palestinian national project and clinging to the legitimate leadership that still guards it amidst the storms.

Fourth: Keeping Jerusalem as the capital of the dream until it becomes the capital of freedom.

Fifth: Considering the prisoners' issue an open item until the sun of freedom rises on the last prisoner.

Sixth: Sending a peace that befits the martyrs who preceded us to glory, and left the path lit by their pure blood.

Seventh: Extending the validity of hope to an indefinite period.

Eighth: Considering despair an entity not authorized to speak on behalf of the future or on behalf of Palestine.

Then the session was adjourned.

And Palestine remained alone.

Looking at the new Hijri year.

And Jerusalem remained standing on its high balcony.

And the martyrs remained guarding the stars.

And the prisoners remained counting the steps of the coming freedom.

As for the great Palestinian people…

It remained as it always has been.

Whenever the world thought that its fatigue had overwhelmed it, it surprised everyone with its miraculous ability to rise again.

Then Palestine smiled.

As if it had read the last page of the story.

And knew that the promise that began in a small cave…

Must one day reach a state worthy of all this patience.

And every year, may Palestine be closer to God's promise.
