Vance: The Strait of Hormuz Will Remain Open Without Fees in the Long Term

SadaNews - US Vice President J.D. Vance stated today (Monday) that the United States expects the Strait of Hormuz to remain open without fees in the long term.

In an interview with CNBC, Vance also mentioned that the Iranian Foreign Minister and the Speaker of the Parliament will represent Iran at the signing ceremony in Switzerland on Friday, and that many details of the agreement are still being arranged, according to a report by Reuters.

Vance said, "We will see the points that Tehran will be willing to make concessions on."

Regarding the Israeli stance on the agreement with Iran, Vance remarked, "I believe there are those who accept the agreement in Israel," adding that "Israel will definitely have a seat at the table in the new Middle East."

Vance continued, "We hope that the text of the agreement will be published this week."

Yesterday, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that both sides have declared an immediate and permanent end to all military operations. All parties announced that the memorandum of understanding to end the war will be signed in Switzerland on Friday. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that the memorandum will be published afterward.

Both Iran and the United States indicated that the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the lifting of the US blockade on Iranian ports will commence upon the signing of the memorandum.

Both sides noted that negotiations on more difficult contentious points, especially the Iranian nuclear issue and the US sanctions imposed on Iran, will take place over the next sixty days.
