Trump: The nuclear agreement is intact.. and reports of funding for Iran are "false"

SadaNews - U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that Iran agreed to not possess nuclear weapons, while simultaneously denying the validity of reports claiming that the United States is paying $300 million to Tehran, calling them "false news".

Trump stated in a post on the "Truth Social" platform: "Iran has agreed to never possess nuclear weapons! Furthermore, the story claiming that the United States is paying Iran $300 million is false news spread by the Democrats."

Trump's remarks come at a time when negotiations are ongoing regarding the memorandum of understanding signed between Washington and Tehran, which paves the way for a 60-day period of discussions aimed at reaching a final agreement on Iran's nuclear program.

Media reports had discussed proposals regarding economic and investment support mechanisms for Iran as part of any potential final agreement, but the U.S. administration emphasizes that any economic measures or easing of sanctions will remain linked to Tehran's fulfillment and verification of its nuclear commitments.

The Iranian nuclear issue is considered the foremost test of the agreement that halted military confrontation between the two countries, amid Washington's insistence on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, in exchange for Tehran's pursuit of lifting sanctions and restoring its integration into the global economy.
