Raids and Arrests in the West Bank and Jerusalem as Settlers Storm "Joseph's Tomb"
SadaNews - Israeli occupation forces continued early Tuesday morning their incursions and raids in several cities and towns in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, which included arrests and home searches, coinciding with settlers storming the "Joseph's Tomb" site east of Nablus under heavy military protection, amid a rise in Israeli assaults on Palestinians and their properties.
In Jenin Governorate, occupation forces stormed the town of Ya'bad southwest of the city, while in Tulkarm Governorate, they raided the towns of Deir al-Ghusun and Sidon, where they arrested a young man named Yazan Sa'id Badran after raiding his home in Deir al-Ghusun.
The incursions extended to Nablus Governorate, where occupation forces raided the Al-Aqsa camp, Kafr Qalil village, and the Amman Street east of the city, in addition to executing a wide military deployment to secure the settlers' incursion into "Joseph's Tomb".
At the same time, armed settlers, under the protection of the occupation army, assaulted citizens at the outskirts of Qabalan village southeast of Nablus.
In Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, occupation forces stormed the Al-Tira neighborhood, in addition to the villages of Kafr Ni'ma, Shuqba, and Qibya, along with the town of Ni'lin in the western part of the governorate, and the town of Birzeit and the village of Burham north of it, without reports of arrests.
Local sources also reported a military helicopter landing in the Merj al-Dhahab area in the village of Mughayer northeast of Ramallah, coinciding with the deployment of occupation forces in the region.
Occupation forces also stormed the town of Deir Balout west of Salfit, the city of Doha in Bethlehem Governorate, as well as the project area in the town of Hizma north of occupied Jerusalem, with no arrests recorded in those areas.
These incursions come amid rising military operations and settlement assaults in the West Bank, where the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that occupation forces and settlers carried out 1,659 assaults during the month of May, including 1,261 incursions and raids which resulted in the arrest of 603 Palestinians, in addition to demolishing 355 homes and structures, of which 35 homes were completely destroyed.
