"Hamas Strong on the Ground".. Israeli Security Warnings of the Movement's Readiness for Another War
SadaNews - Senior officials in the Israeli army have warned Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir that the Hamas movement is preparing for another war.
This came according to what was reported by the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation ("Kan 11") on Sunday evening, indicating that senior officials in the intelligence division and the southern command of the Israeli occupation army had issued a warning to Zamir last week, stating that the military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, is re-preparing for war.
The officials stated that Hamas is producing hundreds of explosive devices and anti-tank missiles every month, and is recruiting members aged between 18 and 22.
They also pointed out that the movement has recently started training elite members, and in addition, the movement is trying to smuggle drones and communication equipment from Sinai.
According to the claims of the same officials, Hamas is rebuilding underground infrastructure throughout the Gaza Strip.
Officers from the intelligence division and the southern command informed Zamir that "Hamas is strong on the ground, and no one threatens it, and the movement is not prepared to give up its control over Gaza."
The report from the Israeli broadcasting authority indicated that the Israeli army's position, which was communicated to Washington, "is the necessity to resume fighting, but Washington opposes this, preferring to maintain the status quo created by the agreement, while seeking to continue achieving President (Donald) Trump's vision and the 'Council of Peace'."
According to statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel has expanded its control area within Gaza from 53% of its area at the beginning of the agreement to 60% on May 15, and currently to 70%.
Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement resulted in the killing of 1,041 people and the injury of 3,372 others, according to data from the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
Since the onset of the Israeli war on Gaza on October 8, 2023, Israel has killed more than 73,000 people and injured over 173,000, in addition to extensive destruction affecting 90% of the civilian infrastructure.
