Netanyahu: The Agreement with Lebanon is a Blow to Iran and Hezbollah
SadaNews - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated at a press conference on Saturday evening that the framework agreement with Lebanon represents "a blow to Iran and Hezbollah," adding that "Lebanon and the United States have recognized our right to retain the security area as long as the threat remains. "
Netanyahu referred to the two experimental areas from which the Israeli army will withdraw in exchange for the entry of the Lebanese army into them, in the villages of Zawtar al-Gharbiyah and Frun in southern Lebanon, using a map displayed during the press conference.
He considered that "merely signing this agreement is a very courageous step by the Lebanese government, as it says to Iran and Hezbollah for the first time: We want to make peace with Israel," adding that "this is a radical change that came as a result of our shift in the balance of power."
Netanyahu spoke about the Israeli army's control of the historic Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon, stating that "we will remain there."
