Hamas: Stopping the aggression and lifting the siege on the Gaza Strip is a legitimate right

SadaNews - The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, stated in a press release that "stopping the aggression and lifting the siege on the Gaza Strip is a legitimate right," adding, "We will continue to defend our people until we achieve their national rights."

The movement condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, stating that "the Zionist occupation's acts of genocide, starvation, and siege, coupled with continued killing, displacement, and systematic destruction of the means of life in Gaza, as well as the targeting of civilians and infrastructure, represent a continuous crime and a blatant violation of international law. This confirms that this occupation cannot create security or stability; rather, it exacerbates our people's suffering and increases their commitment to their legitimate national rights, foremost of which are stopping the aggression, lifting the siege, and ending the occupation."

It added, "Our Palestinian people, who have steadfastly faced occupation and aggression for decades, will not be deterred by genocide, starvation, and siege. They will remain committed to their rights and national constants, and all attempts to break their will or impose surrender upon them will fail. They will continue their legitimate struggle until they achieve their freedom, self-determination, and the establishment of their independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital."

The statement continued, "The experiences of peoples throughout history have proven that occupation is destined to end, and the will of peoples striving for freedom is unbreakable. Attempts to impose realities by force or to subjugate peoples through policies of killing and siege will not grant the occupier legitimacy, nor will it provide them with security or stability."

The movement affirmed that it will continue to defend our people and their legitimate national rights, foremost of which are stopping the aggression, lifting the siege, and ending the occupation, as well as enabling our people to exercise their right to freedom, self-determination, return, and the establishment of their fully sovereign independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

It called on the international community and the United Nations to "bear their legal and moral responsibilities and to take practical steps to stop the genocide war, lift the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, and hold the leaders of the occupation accountable for their crimes."

It concluded the statement by saying that "real peace cannot be achieved except by ending the occupation and enabling our Palestinian people to obtain all of their legitimate national rights."
