Prisoners' Authority: Continued Severe Detention Conditions for Female Detainees at 'Damon' Prison

SadaNews - The Authority for Prisoners and Released Prisoners confirmed today, Sunday, the continuation of the severe detention conditions experienced by female detainees at 'Damon' prison, amidst their deprivation of the most basic human rights guaranteed by international covenants and laws.

The Authority stated in a statement issued today, Sunday, that the detainee Lina Muhammad Wazwaz (36 years old) from Hebron, who was arrested on 2/4/2025, suffers from very poor detention conditions in 'Damon'.

Regarding her detention circumstances, the detainee informed the Authority's lawyer that she was arrested on the fourth day of Eid Al-Fitr by about 30 Israeli policemen and suffered severe pain due to the tightening of the handcuffs on her wrists for four consecutive days. She remained in Al-Maskobiyeh for nearly 21 days, and then was transferred between 'Ramla' and 'Sharon' prisons, eventually ending up in 'Damon' in section (3), room (2).

The detainee noted that the policy of repression against female detainees continues, the latest instance being a week ago when the armed raiding forces used sound bombs, and she was injured in the face during the suppression of the room she was in on 10/6/2026.

Concerning the living conditions of the female detainees, Wazwaz stated that some of them sleep on the ground, and the food provided to them is poor and unfit for human consumption. Additionally, they are not allowed to take a painkiller except with a doctor's approval.

It is worth mentioning that detainee Wazwaz is married and a mother of four children, and she works as a school teacher.
