Iran Launches Missiles and Drones Against Bahrain and Kuwait

SadaNews - An American official told Reuters that Iran has launched several missiles and drones towards Bahrain and Kuwait, marking the latest escalation in the Middle East crisis.

The official, who requested anonymity, added that the situation remains unclear, but so far there have been no reports of casualties among Americans or significant impacts or damage to U.S. facilities in the Middle East.

Kuwait announced early Sunday that its air defenses had intercepted incoming missile and drone attacks.

Bahrain also announced early Sunday the sounding of alarms following the U.S. announcement of air strikes on Iran.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that American fighter jets targeted Iranian missile and drone storage sites and radar locations due to violations of the ceasefire agreement.

In a post on his 'Truth Social' account, Trump said: "U.S. planes have conducted airstrikes on Iranian missile and drone storage sites, as well as coastal radar sites, for violating the ceasefire agreement, once again! They are unlikely to ever learn."

Trump warned that Iran "will not exist" if the U.S. decides to escalate, adding: "There may come a time when we cannot remain rational, and we will be compelled to complete the mission we successfully started militarily. If that happens, Iran will no longer exist."

Before Trump's post, the U.S. military had stated that it targeted Iran again just hours after a tanker was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, marking the worst escalation since both parties signed a temporary peace agreement.

The two countries exchanged accusations of violating the agreement they reached about two weeks ago to end a four-month long conflict.

The U.S. Central Command "CENTCOM" stated on Sunday that its forces had launched new strikes after a Panama-flagged tanker was attacked by an Iranian drone early Saturday.

In Iran, the official Iranian Radio and Television announced early Sunday that explosions were heard in the city of Sirik in southern Iran.

CENTCOM added in a statement: "Iran had the opportunity to adhere to the ceasefire agreement but chose not to comply with it."

It noted that the strikes came "in direct response to ongoing Iranian aggression against commercial navigation," targeting Iranian facilities for military surveillance, communications, air defense, drone storage, and mine-laying facilities.

Later, Fox News quoted an American defense official saying that the strikes on Iranian targets have been completed.
