America Hands Over 22 Iranians from Detained Oil Tanker to Pakistan
SadaNews - The United States has handed over 22 Iranians from the crew of the oil tanker MT Lenore to the Pakistani authorities, after the tanker was detained in the Indian Ocean recently.
According to sources, Pakistan took charge today of delivering the Iranian crew members to the Iranian diplomatic mission at the port of Karachi, as part of arrangements to facilitate their return.
For its part, Iranian media reported today, Friday, about the handover of 22 crew members from an Iranian oil tanker that was seized by Washington to the Iranian consulate in Karachi, Pakistan.
Iranian media announced the establishment of a communication line between Washington and Tehran regarding the Strait of Hormuz, while Iranian television confirmed that three oil tankers attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz turned back after a warning from the Revolutionary Guards Navy.
The Revolutionary Guards also affirmed that passage through the Strait of Hormuz is only allowed via the routes announced by Tehran.
