SadaNews - The New York Times reported that the anticipated meeting between Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and U.S. Vice President Mike Pence will be the highest-level direct meeting between Tehran and Washington in 47 years.
The newspaper quoted Iranian officials saying that Qalibaf and Araghchi will head to Geneva to sign the agreement with the U.S. Vice President.
The paper continued describing the officials: "The agreement was reached just after midnight on Monday local time in Iran."
It added: "Iranian officials insisted on not finalizing the peace agreement on President Trump's 80th birthday this Sunday."
It stated: "The time difference between the two countries allowed both Washington and Tehran to maintain their positions regarding either signing the agreement or not on Sunday."
