Maariv: The Last Call Between Netanyahu and Trump Was Tense
SadaNews: The Israeli newspaper Maariv reported - quoting an informed source - that the phone call that took place between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday was characterized by tension.
The newspaper reported that Netanyahu informed Trump that Israel does not consider itself bound by the clause related to Lebanon in the agreement, emphasizing that the Israeli army will not withdraw from Lebanese territory and will continue to remain in the locations it currently controls.
It also noted that Netanyahu is seeking to coordinate a meeting date with Trump following the U.S. president's return from the G7 summit in Europe.
In the same context, Maariv quoted an Israeli source saying that Trump has indeed constrained Israel's freedom to operate within Lebanon.
