6 Palestinians Martyred in Israeli Shelling of Al-Rimal Neighborhood in Western Gaza

SadaNews - Six citizens were martyred and more than 15 others injured due to Israeli shelling that targeted a displaced persons camp in the Passport area of Al-Rimal neighborhood in western Gaza City, on Saturday evening.

Amid an intensified military escalation by the occupation forces in various regions of the Gaza Strip, including airstrikes, artillery bombardment, and continuous gunfire, local reports indicated that a Palestinian was martyred early Saturday following an attack by the occupation army on a tent housing displaced persons in Khan Younis city in southern Gaza.

Medical sources confirmed that the martyr is named Mohannad Othman Farwana and was scheduled to have his wedding today, Saturday.

In the meantime, occupation army vehicles opened heavy fire towards the northwestern areas of Gaza City, while the occupation's "Quadcopter" drones targeted southern areas of the city.

In the town of Bani Suheila east of the city, the Israeli army fired illuminating flares amidst ongoing artillery bombardment, while its fire heavily targeted the Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.

The Gaza Center for Human Rights reported, in a statement, that there has been a documented increase in the casualty toll, noting that the field scene during the first five months of 2026 shows the continuation of systematic genocide that "does not differentiate between civilian and combatant."

According to the data documented by the center from January 1 to June 5, 2026, 534 citizens were martyred at a rate of 7 martyrs every 48 hours (one martyr every 6 hours on average), while 1,782 others were injured at an average daily rate of about 12 injured. Among the recent attacks, 10 citizens were martyred and dozens injured following the targeting of 4 residential apartments early last Thursday.
