America Opposes Resuming War in Gaza with an Alternative Plan in Progress Without Hamas
SadaNews - Axios reported on Wednesday evening that the U.S.-led Peace Council wishes to begin implementing an alternative plan regarding Gaza without the approval or understanding of Hamas.
According to the American site, the decision to move to the "alternative plan" in Gaza came after efforts to persuade Hamas to relinquish its heavy weapons reached a dead end.
It indicated that the United States and the Peace Council want to move forward without Hamas.
Sources familiar with the matter stated that the new plan will be implemented through the deployment of a Gaza Management Committee and beginning the reconstruction of Gaza in areas not under Hamas control.
The United States informed Israel that it does not support the resumption of war in Gaza at this stage as a means to resolve the deadlock in negotiations, according to a senior U.S. official.
The official stated: We do not believe that resuming war in Gaza serves the interests of the United States or Israel.
He added: We do not think we have exhausted all other options to implement President Trump's twenty-point plan.
