The Cabinet Urges Sectors to Consider Economic Conditions and Confirms Work to Secure a Salary Payment Soon

SadaNews: The Cabinet warned of the escalation of terrorist crimes by settlers against Palestinians and their properties, as settlers' militias carried out a total of 154 assaults targeting 26 Palestinian villages within a week, resulting in the martyrdom of one citizen and the injury of 9 others, in addition to 11 demolition operations carried out by the occupation authorities affecting 63 Palestinian facilities, the largest of which was in the Jerusalem governorate, in preparation for executing the dangerous colonial E1 plan. Furthermore, daily violations continue with shelling and killings against our people in the Gaza Strip, alongside the ongoing disruption of the entry of necessary relief and recovery supplies to the sector.

During its weekly session today, Tuesday, the Council welcomed the decision of the European Union Foreign Ministers to grant the green light to impose sanctions on settlers and settlement bodies involved in acts of violence against our people in the West Bank, while calling on all countries of the world to adopt similar and firmer positions, imposing political, economic, and legal sanctions on the entire colonial settlement system, considering it illegal and a blatant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions.

In another context, on the anniversary of the Nakba, the Cabinet called upon Palestinians and all public employees to participate widely in the events dedicated to commemorating it, which kick off today, reaffirming the Palestinian people's and their leadership's commitment to continue working and resisting at all levels to restore their usurped national rights.

The Cabinet listened to a presentation from the Minister of Finance regarding the ongoing efforts on various fronts to secure sufficient financial resources to disburse a payment of salaries for public employees soon.

Moreover, the Cabinet discussed the ongoing exceptional financial and political conditions facing the State of Palestine due to the continued Israeli pressures on the Palestinian people, along with the increasing challenges to the government's ability to meet its financial obligations towards employees and vital sectors, and the government's persistent efforts on all fronts to secure financial resources and external support, in addition to mobilizing further international pressure to release our funds held by the occupation.

In light of these complex circumstances, the Council urged various sectors to consider the overall situation and the difficult economic conditions of citizens, and to ensure the continued provision of essential and urgent services to our people amidst the challenging financial situation, especially since these circumstances are beyond the government's capacity and capabilities. Therefore, any reluctance or disruption in providing essential services exacerbates the suffering of our people amidst the difficult conditions everyone is experiencing.

In this context, the Council reaffirmed its commitment to the agreements signed with various sectors, including the entitlements of all public employees, while also appreciating the resilience, patience, and endurance of employees in the face of difficult economic conditions.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved the proposal from the Standards and Metrology Institute to authorize supervisory bodies to implement and enforce the mandatory technical instructions regarding the mandatory reinforcement of food products and reducing the percentage of table salt, in a way that considers the best international standards for food product specifications and protects citizens' health.

The Council also approved two cooperation agreements, the first between the Ministry of State for Relief Affairs and the World Food Program to support emergency response in Palestine, and the second agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Government of the State of Palestine regarding mutual recognition of national driving licenses and their replacement, as part of efforts by the Ministry of Transport to increase the number of countries that recognize the Palestinian driving license.
