Despite Iran's Threats.. The U.S. Military Confirms Continuation of the Blockade
SadaNews: The U.S. military confirmed the continuation of the maritime blockade on Iran, despite Iranian threats, stating that it had disabled 4 ships since the commencement of the blockade.
U.S. Central Command "CENTCOM" stated that its forces redirected 58 commercial vessels and disabled 4 ships since April 13, as part of the maritime blockade imposed on Iran.
The U.S. military reaffirmed the full continuation of the maritime blockade on Iran despite Iranian threats.
Earlier, the semi-official Fars news agency reported that sporadic clashes occurred on Friday between Iranian forces and U.S. ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
Later, the Tasnim news agency quoted an Iranian military source as saying that the situation had calmed down, but he warned of the possibility of renewed clashes.
For its part, the U.S. military stated that it targeted two ships associated with Tehran that were attempting to enter an Iranian port, hitting both vessels' smoke stacks with an American fighter jet and forcing them to turn back.
Last month, the United States imposed a blockade on Iranian ships.
