Israel Ignored an Old Document Warning About Fiber Optic Controlled Suicide Drones
SadaNews - The Israeli military radio revealed a document issued a year ago by the operations division, which warned of the danger posed by fiber optic guided suicide drones, confirming that areas 15 to 20 kilometers away from the front line are no longer safe.
The document emphasized the need for urgent measures to prepare, train, and provide protective means; however, these recommendations remained unheeded.
Despite early warnings, the Israeli military only began to take effective steps recently, after suffering direct human losses, with two soldiers and a contractor killed and about 40 others injured in a series of attacks carried out by these drones.
The Israeli radio indicated that the operations division had initially called for defensive and offensive solutions to tackle this threat, but a response was only realized after the losses occurred.
These drones used by Hezbollah rely on fiber optic technology, making them less susceptible to interception or jamming, and giving them a range exceeding ten kilometers, which complicates engagement and multiplies the challenges faced by the Israeli army.
