Hebrew Channel: Israel to Receive Ammunition to Counter Hezbollah Drones
Translation by SadaNews - The Hebrew Channel Reshet Kan reported on Tuesday evening that the Israeli army is preparing to introduce a new means to counter the drones launched by the Lebanese Hezbollah.
According to the Hebrew channel, as translated by SadaNews, this means is ammunition that can be used in light rifles, and it has proven effective on the battlefield in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
It indicated that it consists of fragmented bullets, which will be introduced into 5.56 caliber magazines, suitable for M-16 and Tavor rifles, and it will be distributed to Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon.
It noted that this ammunition contains five iron pellets, which will increase the radius of impact against drones by about 30 meters and is expected to significantly enhance the chances of hitting drones in the air.
It mentioned that a delegation from the Israeli ground forces recently arrived to conduct tests in the United States, and yesterday, the commander of those forces instructed the purchase of hundreds of thousands of ammunition boxes from the United States.
According to estimates, the new ammunition is expected to arrive in Israel next week, along with field instructions given to soldiers to deal with drones.
