Accusation of a Young Man from Nahariya for the Murder of Mamoun Rabah from Jdeideh-Makr

SadaNews - The Israeli occupation's Public Prosecution has submitted an indictment to the Central Court in Haifa against Mohammad Kayyal, a resident of Nahariya, for premeditated murder under aggravated circumstances of Mamoun Rabah, in connection with a crime that occurred in October 2022 in Jdeideh-Makr.

The indictment was submitted, according to a statement from the prosecution on Tuesday, following a recent significant progress in the investigation, after collecting new evidence that strengthened the case file.

According to the indictment presented by the Haifa District Prosecution, "the crime occurred against the backdrop of a violent and ongoing dispute between the Kayyal and Rabah families, which previously led to the murder of the accused's brother. Based on this background, Kayyal, along with others, planned to carry out a shooting targeting Rabah."

The statement noted that "the accused and his accomplices arrived at the scene of the incident and fired a large number of bullets from a close range towards the victim, resulting in his death at the scene."

The public prosecution requested the court to detain the accused until the judicial proceedings are complete, confirming that the request for detention is based on presenting central evidence that contributed to the advancement of the investigation's proceedings.

The prosecution also clarified that the indictment was presented after collecting additional evidence at a later stage of the investigation, including recordings and expert opinions, which played a decisive role in strengthening the evidence against the accused.
