The Passing of Egyptian Singer Hani Shaker After Health Crisis

SadaNews - After suffering from a health crisis weeks ago and being transported for treatment in Paris, Egyptian artist Hani Shaker, known as the Prince of Arab Music, passed away at the age of 73.

His son Sherif announced the news of his death today, Sunday, via his personal account on Facebook. Sherif wrote: "With hearts believing in God's decree and destiny, I mourn my father, my friend, my support, my dear, and my brother, the late Prince of Arab Music Hani Shaker."

He also added that he "did not just lose a father, but lost his soul and the closest person to his heart." He concluded by writing, "O Allah, have mercy on him, forgive him, and make his abode in Paradise... To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return."

Colon Removal Surgery

Shaker had suffered a severe health crisis in recent weeks after undergoing colon removal surgery in Cairo, which led to a deterioration in his condition. His family decided to transfer him to Paris for further treatment.

His condition had improved significantly afterward, but he suffered an emergency setback that required him to enter the intensive care unit, where he struggled between life and death for several days until he breathed his last today.

It is worth mentioning that Hani Shaker is a famous Egyptian singer born in Cairo in 1952, and he is considered one of the most famous singers in the Arab world and part of the golden generation of art and music.

He was also titled the Prince of Arab Music due to the sweetness of his voice and rose to fame by singing for major composers, appearing alongside the giants of Egyptian music such as Abdel Halim Hafez, Mohammad Abdel Wahab, and Farid al-Atrash.
