The Argentine Government Bans Journalists from Entering the Presidential Palace
SadaNews - The government of Argentine President Javier Milei, on Thursday - Friday, banned journalists from entering the presidential palace, known as "Casa Rosada".
The Secretary of Communications and Press, Javier Lanari, stated that the decision was based on a complaint from the entity responsible for the president's security and the government headquarters.
He wrote on the "X" platform: "The decision to cancel the accreditation of journalists at Casa Rosada was taken as a precautionary measure following a complaint about illegal spying at the presidential palace."
Lanari added: "The sole purpose is to ensure national security."
Currently, around 60 reporters have been barred from working in the government building.
The complaint is believed to be related to two television journalists filming in unauthorized areas of the palace.
Milei used the "X" platform to describe journalists as "disgusting scum" and challenged other media members to justify their actions.
