The Temporary Constitution Drafting Committee Holds a Consultative Meeting with the General Cooperative Union
SadaNews - The Temporary Constitution Drafting Committee of the State of Palestine held a consultative meeting today, Tuesday, with a delegation from the General Cooperative Union, at the headquarters of the Palestine Liberation Organization in Ramallah. The meeting included the Cooperative Sector of the Ministry of Labor and a number of cooperative societies that are part of the union, as part of the ongoing discussions on the draft temporary constitution.
This meeting comes as part of the continuous efforts by the committee to prepare the draft constitution by involving various official and relevant bodies, contributing to the development of the constitutional text and enhancing its alignment with the requirements of the current phase that the State of Palestine is undergoing.
The meeting was attended by the committee's president, Dr. Muhammad Al-Haj Qassem, and the secretary of the committees, Ayman Al-Shaq'a, who presented a detailed overview of the committee's work stages and its sub-committees, in addition to the main consultations it has conducted with various relevant parties, aiming to reach a consensus that reflects the needs of the phase and responds to national necessities.
The committee listened to the interventions and comments of participants regarding the articles of the draft constitution, notably those related to associations and the economic system.
The committee affirmed its commitment to continue consulting with the concerned parties, which contributes to the development of the draft constitution and enhances the chances of its approval, achieving the supreme national interest.
