Iran is studying "new" American proposals received through Pakistan

SadaNews - Iran announced on Saturday that it is studying "new" proposals received from the United States as part of mediation efforts led by Pakistan to bring a definitive end to the war in the Middle East.

A statement from the Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council, published by the official news agency (IRNA), said: "In recent days, through the visit of the Pakistani army chief, new proposals were offered... which Tehran is currently considering and has not yet responded to."

The Pakistani army announced on Saturday that its chief has concluded a three-day visit to Tehran, during which he met senior Iranian officials and negotiators as part of the efforts to end the war in the Middle East.

The army stated in a statement issued before the anticipated talks between Tehran and Washington in Islamabad in the coming days that army chief Asim Munir met with several senior Iranian leaders during the visit, indicating "Pakistan's steadfast determination to facilitate reaching a negotiated settlement."

The talks in Islamabad between Washington and Tehran ended without reaching an agreement, but diplomatic efforts continued thereafter.

A second round of talks is expected to be held in Islamabad next week.
