Netanyahu Confirms There is No Ceasefire with Lebanon and Zamir Talks About Deepening Operations
Translation by SadaNews - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Thursday evening in a video recording addressed to residents of northern settlements that there is no ceasefire in Lebanon.
Netanyahu added, as translated by SadaNews, we continue to strike Hezbollah forcefully, and we will not stop until we restore security for you.
He continued: Our significant achievements in Iran and against the axis of evil have led to a historic change in Israel's status in the region, as well as a change in our relations with countries with which we previously had no relations.
He went on to say: After repeated requests from the Lebanese government to open peace negotiations with us, I ordered last night in the security cabinet to begin direct negotiations with Lebanon to achieve two goals: the first is disarming Hezbollah, and the second is a historic and sustainable peace agreement between Israel and Lebanon.
He reiterated his statement made several times recently: Israel is stronger than ever, and Iran is weaker than ever.
He added: I have already brought four peace agreements with Arab countries, and I intend to bring more... We are achieving real peace... Peace from a position of strength.
For his part, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, Eyal Zamir, during a visit to his troops in the Lebanese town of Bint Jbeil, stated that his forces are at war and continue to fight vigorously.
Zamir added, as translated by SadaNews, we entered into a ceasefire with Iran yesterday and we are ready to return to fighting forcefully if needed.
He continued: Our main battlefield is here in Lebanon... We continue to deepen the maneuver and continue to strike Hezbollah; this is a very strong operation and our forces are working on the front lines and in depth.
He added: Our achievements in the war against Iran are unprecedented and historic... Iran before this war is not the same Iran; it is much weaker, and we have killed their top commanders.
He noted: The blow Iran received affects Hezbollah... Hezbollah is isolated within Lebanon and cut off from its strategic lifeline in Iran... The Lebanese government realizes more than ever the magnitude of the problem posed by the presence of an extremist terrorist organization on its soil, as he expressed.
He said: We dealt a severe blow to Hezbollah yesterday... They left the suburbs and went to other places to manage the battle from there, and in turn, we will continue to deepen the strikes and direct them at them.
