Putin Issues Directives to Enhance the Efficiency of Cultural Heritage Maintenance and Accelerate the Pace of Restoration

SadaNews - President Vladimir Putin has instructed the government to protect cultural heritage and integrate it into the economy by 2030, while accelerating the pace of restoration to enhance national identity.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a package of instructions to the Russian government aimed at enhancing the protection and preservation of cultural heritage sites, by incorporating specific action paths within the "national model of targeted conditions for business practice" extending until 2030.

According to the list of directives published on the official Kremlin website, which was formulated following a meeting of the Supervisory Council of the "Agency for Strategic Initiatives”, the cabinet must ensure the effectiveness of measures aimed at preserving the historical and cultural monuments of the peoples of the Russian Federation, especially those suffering from deterioration in their structural condition.

The presidential directives include a special focus on the investment aspect; Putin directed the necessity to shorten the duration of investment and construction cycles required to reintegrate these historical sites into the economic cycle and developmental activity. The instructions also mandated the creation of a clear "roadmap" that includes key performance indicators to monitor the implementation of this national model and ensure the desired goals in heritage preservation are achieved.

The Russian President has tasked Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with direct supervision of the implementation and follow-up.

This step reinforces Putin's vision of the importance of restoration as an essential tool for maintaining national identity and the historical value of Russian landmarks.
