Attorney General from Nablus: Field Follow-Up, Institutional Integration, and Signing Memorandum to Enhance Legal Capacities
SadaNews - The Attorney General, Counselor Akram Al-Khatib, conducted an inspection visit to Nablus Governorate, during which he reviewed the work process at the prosecution office, observed the main challenges and practical issues, and discussed with local partners ways to develop coordination and integration that upholds the rule of law.
The Attorney General emphasized during the visit that: "The development of the justice system can only be achieved through effective field presence and genuine integration among institutions, placing the rule of law above all considerations, and ensuring its enforcement with efficiency and fairness, which enhances citizens' trust and protects their rights."
He began his visit with a meeting with the president and members of the Nablus Prosecution, where he listened to a presentation about the work reality and the course of procedures, stressing the importance of improving performance and raising work efficiency to ensure justice and protect citizens' rights.
The Attorney General also met with the honorable President of Nablus Court, Judge Majdi Jarrar, where they discussed ways to enhance integration between the two branches of justice to expedite procedures and reinforce principles of justice.
Regarding institutional coordination, the Attorney General met with the Governor of Nablus Governorate, Ghassan Daghlas, in the presence of leaders, directors, and representatives of the security agencies, and the Nablus Prosecution Chief, Mr. Khalil Salamah, and the Juvenile Prosecution Chief, Mr. Thaer Khalil, where they reviewed key priority issues and discussed mechanisms to develop coordination among the concerned parties to enhance community security and ensure proper enforcement of the law.
Governor Daghlas emphasized the importance of integrated efforts and working in a spirit of teamwork, while the Attorney General praised the role of the governorate and security agencies in supporting the justice system, confirming that institutional partnership is a fundamental pillar to enhance the rule of law and achieve security and stability.
The Attorney General also met with the Vice President of the Board of Trustees of An-Najah National University, Dr. Rami Hamdallah, where they emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with academic institutions, linking theoretical aspects to practical applications, which contributes to the development of legal competencies.
The visit culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the University President, Professor Abdel-Nasser Zaid, aimed at enhancing cooperation in the fields of training and legal qualification, and exchanging experiences, contributing to building the capacities of legal professionals and enriching the justice system with qualified competencies.
This visit comes in the context of the periodic inspection tours conducted by the Attorney General, reflecting its commitment to developing the judicial work environment, enhancing institutional integration, and reinforcing citizens' trust in the justice system.
