Israeli - American Attacks on Steel Factories in Iran

SadaNews - Israel and the United States have launched attacks on steel factories in Isfahan and Khuzestan in Iran in the latest escalation of the ongoing war and attacks against Iranian facilities, industries, and civil, military, and nuclear infrastructure since February 28. Israeli security agencies point to "important factories that are part of the valuable Iranian military industrial chain, partially owned by the Revolutionary Guard."

The Israeli army announced that it carried out a wave of large-scale attacks conducted at night in Tehran, targeting "dozens of military industries, missile launch sites, and soldiers deployed at missile systems," while Iran launched missiles towards central and southern regions of the country, including areas of Tel Aviv, the Negev, and Jerusalem.

Israeli Minister of Security, Israel Katz, stated that the attacks on Tehran in Iran "will escalate and expand to include additional targets and areas that assist the regime in building and operating weapons against Israelis."

The Israeli army noted in a statement that "among the sites targeted were: a base used by the Iranian army to train soldiers and store missile systems designed to target aircraft, a site for producing and developing key components for ballistic missiles, a site for producing weapon batteries, and a site for producing Revolutionary Guard weapons."

In another statement, the Israeli army announced, "attacking the central site for producing missiles and naval mines in Iran, which was headquartered in Yazd," emphasizing that the site "was used for planning, developing, assembling, and storing advanced missiles, intended for launching from warships, submarines, and helicopters at moving and stationary maritime targets."

The Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. Department of Defense, "the Pentagon," is considering deploying approximately 10,000 additional troops in the Middle East to strengthen military options for U.S. President Donald Trump, in parallel with ongoing negotiations with Iran.

The Revolutionary Guard stated in a statement that the strikes were carried out using long- and medium-range missiles and "destructive and roaming drones," targeting locations in Israel, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, adding that a maintenance facility for the U.S. "Patriot" air defense system in Bahrain was also targeted.

This comes as U.S. President Donald Trump announced late Thursday to Friday that he is suspending attacks on Iranian energy facilities for 10 days until April 6, at what he said was at Tehran's request, indicating that negotiations are ongoing and proceeding well, "despite misleading statements."
