Egypt Continues Its Efforts to De-escalate and Calls for Seizing Trump's Recent Initiative to Favor Dialogue

SadaNews - The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "The Arab Republic of Egypt is closely and continuously following the developments occurring in the Middle East over the past weeks. In this regard, it reiterates its condemnation of the attacks that targeted the Gulf countries and our brotherly Jordan, and rejects any infringement on its security and sovereignty categorically. Egypt also warns of the dire consequences of the ongoing escalation on regional security and stability, as well as its economic and commercial ramifications that have affected the region and the world in its entirety." The ministry added in a statement today, "In this context, Egypt is making diligent efforts and continues its relentless communications and intensive efforts with all concerned parties over the past days to prevent reaching a point of no return, to stop the escalation in the region, and to avoid slipping into comprehensive chaos. Egypt is making all possible endeavors, in close coordination with regional and international parties, to urge all concerned parties to de-escalate and reach a ceasefire that halts the ongoing conflict and prevents its expansion in the region, averting a situation of comprehensive regional chaos." It continued, "From this standpoint, Egypt welcomes all efforts and initiatives aimed at de-escalation and calming tensions, paving the way for reducing escalation and ending the war. In this context, Egypt emphasizes the significance of the statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump on March 23, in which he referred to the intense communications for de-escalation and his commitment to halting plans targeting Iranian energy facilities. Egypt values the importance of seizing this opportunity and building upon it to favor dialogue to stop the escalation, ultimately leading to the end of the war." Egypt also stresses the necessity of working to encourage these positive voices that support dialogue and negotiation, affirming that it will leave no effort to continue its intensive efforts in full cooperation and coordination with regional and international partners to keep the door for dialogue and diplomacy open, preserving the destinies of the peoples and safeguarding regional and international security and peace.
