Mujtaba Khamenei: The Enemy Bet on Overthrowing the Regime, and Unity Foiled Its Plans

SadaNews - On Friday, Iranian leader Mujtaba Khamenei delivered a message on the occasion of Nowruz, broadcast by state television without his audio or visual presence. He focused on the ongoing war, claiming that Iran's adversaries "thought that the people would be able to overthrow the Islamic regime within a day or two," and that they rushed into confrontation after the "enemy's despair of a popular movement in its favor." He emphasized that the unity of Iranians thwarted these estimates and inflicted a clear "defeat" on the enemy.

Khamenei stated in his message that Iran had engaged in "three wars" over the past year, stressing that "the front line inside Iran is much stronger than enemies imagine" and that the people "formed an impregnable fortress with their presence in the arenas and dealt heavy blows to the enemy." He added that some external powers were deluded into thinking that "with the martyrdom of the head of the regime, the people would leave the arenas" and that they could "dominate and divide Iran," considering that these calculations fell short in the face of internal cohesion.

He pointed out that "at this moment, because of the unity established among you, O sons of our homeland, despite all your differences in religious, ideological, cultural, and political backgrounds, the enemy has been defeated," adding that this unity was a "decisive blow to him (the enemy), to the extent that it has started to utter contradictory words and nonsense." He praised what he described as the "unity of Iranians" as a "great divine blessing."

Khamenei Denies Tehran's Involvement in Attacks on Oman and Turkey

In another context, Khamenei denied that Iran was responsible for the attacks targeting Turkey and Oman, stating: "I emphasize that the attacks that took place in Turkey and Oman, which have good relations with us, were not carried out in any way by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic or any other forces on the resistance front," accusing Israel of being behind them with the aim of "spreading discord among the nation." He also urged domestic media to "refrain from focusing on weaknesses."

The leader pointed out that Iran "shares with neighboring countries in creed, interests, and the confrontation against the global arrogance forces," referring to the United States and Israel, emphasizing that the battle is not limited to the military aspect but extends to the internal and media front.

In a previous statement aired via Iranian television on the 12th of this month, Khamenei said that his country had thwarted attempts to divide it, adding that "if the war situation continues, fronts will be activated in which the enemy has no experience," calling for the utilization of all capabilities to close the Strait of Hormuz and to operate in "all the soft arenas of the enemies." He also stressed that the Iranian forces "blocked the enemy's path with their strong strikes and took it out of the illusion of being able to dominate and divide our homeland."

He added in the same statement: "We believe in friendship with neighboring countries, but we are obliged to continue targeting the American bases in them," attributing this to the use of those bases for targeting Iranian territories.

For his part, Iranian President Masoud Bezhakian sent a message to the citizens, calling for unification in the face of the United States and Israel, urging Iranians abroad to "abandon hatred" and work towards "the unity and advancement of Iran."

Bezhakian stated that "the enemy assassinated the leader, our military leaders, and ministers from my government, and children in schools without justification or evidence," considering that "the enemy thought that the assassination of the leader and military leaders would lead to the collapse of the country."

He added that the Assembly of Experts quickly "chose the new leader Mujtaba Khamenei to lead the country strongly," emphasizing that "no Iranian official has the right to turn to weapons of mass destruction or nuclear weapons."

He also noted that U.S. President Donald Trump claims that the popular gatherings in Iran are "the result of artificial intelligence," adding that Tehran demands the sending of journalists to verify their authenticity.

Bezhakian emphasized that the Iranian armed forces "steadfastly defend the country, and the people have never left the arenas during the war," suggesting the "establishment of a security system and the formation of an Islamic council among the countries of the region" as a way to achieve peace.
