Source Reveals Details of Mojtaba Khamenei's Injury: Contusion, Fracture, and Minor Wounds

SadaNews - A knowledgeable source informed CNN that the new Iranian Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, suffered a fracture in his foot and other minor wounds during the first day of the war.

According to the source, Khamenei, who is 56 years old, also sustained a contusion around his left eye, in addition to minor superficial wounds on his face.

In this context, the Iranian ambassador to Cyprus, Ali Reza Salarian, told The Guardian on Wednesday that Mojtaba Khamenei was injured in the same airstrike that resulted in the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, along with five other family members.

Salarian added that Mojtaba Khamenei's absence from public appearances or making any statements since his appointment is due to his injuries, saying: "I don't think he is in a comfortable condition that allows him to deliver a speech."

For his part, Youssef Bazhjikan, son of Iranian President Masoud Bazhjikan, stated in comments reported by the semi-official ISNA news agency that he heard about Khamenei's injury, but he confirmed that the new leader is "fine and there are no concerns."

In his absence, Iranian state media resorted to using limited archival materials of Mojtaba Khamenei, along with AI-generated images to fill the gap of available footage.

Observers believe that the new Supreme Leader, despite not being a senior cleric, is closely connected with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and the economic elite of the regime, and it is believed that he is no less hardline than his father, possibly even more so.
