Reports: 4 Iranian Diplomats Killed in Lebanon in Israeli Attack
SadaNews - Iranian official media reported on Tuesday, quoting Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations Amir Saeed Iravani, that 4 Iranian diplomats were killed in Lebanon on Sunday in an Israeli attack.
The Israeli military stated that it attacked members of the Lebanon Corps of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard's Quds Force early that day at a hotel in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
The Israeli military renewed its airstrikes on southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut today after issuing new evacuation warnings, while the United Nations recorded the displacement of 100,000 people in Lebanon within 24 hours.
The war in the Middle East reached Lebanon after Hezbollah fired missiles at the Israeli state in response to the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day of American-Israeli strikes. Since then, Israel has been responding with extensive air raids on Lebanon and ground incursions in its southern territory.
The official "National News Agency" reported that "Israeli warplanes recently launched a fierce raid on the Al-Jamous neighborhood in the southern suburbs," while the Israeli army announced airstrikes on "infrastructure" belonging to Hezbollah in the area after it had issued evacuation warnings for wide neighborhoods.
