Zamir: The War Will Require A Lot of Time and Will Determine Our Security for Many Years
SadaNews - Israeli Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, said on Sunday that the war "will require a lot of time," emphasizing that it will determine Israel's security and future "for many years to come."
This statement came during a situational assessment conducted by Zamir on Sunday, with the participation of "the Commander of the Home Front Command, Shai Kelaber, the Commander of the Air Defense Division, and several other leaders," according to a statement issued by the Israeli army.
Zamir stated, "During the night, we carried out an operation against the 'Quds Force' in Beirut, and we succeeded in targeting it, and I assure you that there is no safe place for Iran's proxies, neither in the Middle East, nor in Beirut, nor anywhere else."
He added, "Additionally, we witnessed heavy gunfire on northern areas, as occurred last night," referring to the killing of two Israeli army personnel.
Zamir continued, "Hezbollah is an extremist arm of Iran, and it is paying and will continue to pay a heavy price for that."
He emphasized that "Israel has been living in a state of emergency for the past two years, and what we need now is patience; it will take a long time, and you must be prepared for that, no matter how long it takes."
The Chief of Staff of the Israeli army stated that "this is a war of our generations, it is a fateful war, and a decisive war, and this war will determine our future and security here for many years to come."
This comes as US President Donald Trump earlier on Sunday commented on how long the war might last: "I don’t know. I never expect. All I can say is that we are ahead of the program (Iranian nuclear) in terms of impact and timing."
