US War Secretary: Iran Will Not Be a 'War without End'
SadaNews - US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth stated on Monday that military operations against Iran will not lead to a "war without end," emphasizing that the goal is to destroy Tehran's missiles, navy, and other security infrastructure.
Hegseth added during a press conference at the ministry's headquarters: "We are delivering precise and powerful blows without relent," affirming that "the war with Iran is not aimed at establishing democracy."
He continued: "Our strikes in Iran focus on destroying Iran's capabilities… and we set the terms of this war."
Hegseth further stated: "We did not start the war with Iran and tried to reach a deal, but Tehran was trying to buy time."
He stressed that "Iran will not acquire a nuclear weapon," adding, "Iran has not built anything except nuclear facilities."
For his part, US Chief of Staff Dan Kin commented on the war with Iran, saying, "This is not an operation that ends in just one day," highlighting that "we expect more casualties."
He pointed out the "continuing flow of forces into the region," explaining that "these are major combat operations… and there is coordinated work to eliminate Iran's capabilities."
He emphasized: "President Trump gave the final approval for the mission against Iran at exactly 3:38 PM on Friday."
He added: "More than 100 aircraft were launched in a single wave in a crushing attack on Iran… We intercepted hundreds of missiles that were launched toward our forces and allies."
