The Red Crescent Deploys 9 Trucks Loaded with More than 3 Million Medical Units to Gaza

Sada News - The Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced today, Tuesday, the launch of a major logistical operation to transport vital medical supplies from its central warehouses in the West Bank to the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing.

The Society confirmed that this step comes in response to repeated warnings regarding the depletion of medical stock and essential medical supplies necessary for the continued operation of field hospitals and the Society’s clinics in the sector.

It pointed out that the convoy is the result of intensive coordination efforts that have been ongoing for several months with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Today, 5 trucks carrying 111 pallets (containers) containing 3,284,684 units of medicines and medical solutions were dispatched, with plans to complete the mission by loading an additional 4 trucks with 83 pallets of medicines funded by the European Union and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, stored in the warehouses of the World Health Organization, bringing the total convoy to 194 pallets loaded on 9 large trucks.

The Society clarified that these medical purchases were made with generous funding and support from international partners, including the European Union (ECHO), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the Arab Organization (ARCO), in addition to the national Red Cross societies in Spain, Britain, Norway, and Canada, and in collaboration with the Palestinian American Medical Association (PAMA) to support the treatment of skin diseases. The Society emphasized that the arrival of this aid is a fundamental pillar to ensure that emergency health services provided to citizens do not stop amid the tough conditions faced by the health sector.
