Two Martyrs in Israeli Airstrike on Ain al-Hilweh Refugee Camp in Southern Lebanon

SadaNews - Two people were martyred and others were injured this evening, Friday, due to an Israeli airstrike targeting a building in the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp in Sidon, southern Lebanon.

The Palestinian Civil Defense in Ain al-Hilweh camp announced the two martyrs as a result of the Israeli airstrike in the Hittin neighborhood.

Sources from Hamas reported that the targeted building is a headquarters for the joint security forces and not a Hamas facility, according to "Al-Arabiya TV".

The Israeli army stated in a statement that it attacked the site, claiming it was used as a headquarters by Hamas members in the camp. It also claimed that the headquarters was used to carry out operations against its forces inside Lebanese territory, including training aimed at advancing various plans against the army and Israel.

The Lebanese agency reported that "an Israeli drone targeted the Hittin neighborhood in the Ain al-Hilweh camp with three missiles".

This comes as the Israeli army announces almost daily attacks inside Lebanese territory, which it claims target elements and positions of Hezbollah.

Despite the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon taking effect at the end of 2024, the Israeli army continues to carry out near-daily attacks in Lebanon, especially in the south of the country.

Israel continues its violations of the ceasefire agreement established with "Hezbollah" since November 2024, resulting in hundreds of martyrs and injuries, in addition to Tel Aviv's ongoing occupation of 5 Lebanese hills it controlled during the last war, as well as other areas it has occupied for decades.

Israel has killed more than 4,000 people and injured about 17,000 others during its aggression against Lebanon that began in October 2023, before turning it into a full-scale war in September 2024, which ceased after the signing of the ceasefire agreement.
