The Central Election Commission Concludes Consideration of Objections to the Voter Registry
SadaNews - The Central Election Commission announced today, Wednesday, that it has completed the study and consideration of all objections and appeals submitted regarding the preliminary voter registry during the publishing and objection phase.
The Commission explained that it received a total of 194 applications during the publishing and objection period, which were divided between objections to others, requests for data corrections, and updates for holders of foreign passports. These were handled according to the applicable legal and administrative procedures, ensuring accuracy and fairness.
The Commission indicated that it decided to accept 131 applications, while 63 other applications were rejected after completing the auditing and verification of the relevant documents and data. However, only one appeal was directed to the Electoral Cases Court.
It is noteworthy that this data confirms the integrity and accuracy of the Commission's work, its professionalism, and its commitment to enabling citizens to exercise their right to object and appeal within the guaranteed legal protections.
It added that with the official conclusion of the court's decision regarding the only appeal submitted, the publishing and objection phase ends, and the voter registry becomes final and approved for candidacy and voting.
The Commission also noted that it is currently preparing to move to the next phase of the electoral process, which involves receiving candidacy applications from the morning of February 23 until noon on March 1, according to the approved timetable.
