Italy: We are ready to train police forces in Gaza
SadaNews - Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani expressed on Monday his country's readiness to assist in training police forces in Gaza and other areas of the Palestinian territories, as part of Rome's efforts to contribute to the stability of the Middle East.
Tajani said in a press conference in Rome: "We are ready to train a new police force in Gaza, and we are also prepared to train a Palestinian police force."
The Italian minister confirmed Rome's readiness to participate as an observer in the peace council initiative launched by U.S. President Donald Trump, noting that Italy has received an invitation to attend a council meeting this week in Washington.
