Jordan Condemns Ongoing Israeli Violations of the Al-Aqsa Mosque
SadaNews - The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the ongoing unacceptable Israeli incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the latest of which was a breach by a member of the Israeli Knesset, constituting a flagrant violation of the legal and historical status quo in the blessed Al-Haram Al-Qudsi and a desecration of its sanctity. It emphasized that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
The ministry's spokesperson, ambassador Fouad Majali, reaffirmed the kingdom's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the continued unacceptable incursions by extremist cabinet ministers and Knesset members into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Qudsi, viewing it as a provocative act aimed at imposing new realities in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Qudsi and an attempt to temporal and spatial partitioning. He warned of the consequences of these ongoing violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Majali called on the international community to take a firm international stance that obligates Israel, as the occupying power, to stop its ongoing illegal violations against the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and its violations against the sanctity of sacred places.
He reiterated that the entire area of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, spanning 144 dunams, is a place of pure worship for Muslims, and that the Jerusalem Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Administration, under the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Holy Sites, is the legal authority with exclusive jurisdiction to manage the affairs of the blessed Al-Haram Al-Qudsi and regulate access to it.
