The Presidency Warns of the Danger of the Occupation Government's Decision to Convert West Bank Lands into So-Called 'State Property'

SadaNews - The Palestinian Presidency has warned of the dangerous implications of the Israeli occupation government's decision, which violates international law, to convert West Bank lands into what is known as "state property," belonging to the occupying authorities. It considers this decision a threat to security and stability, constituting a serious escalation and a blatant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions.

The Presidency stated that the rejected and condemned Israeli decision is tantamount to an actual annexation of the occupied Palestinian land and a declaration of the start of implementing plans to annex Palestinian land in order to entrench the occupation through illegal settlement. It represents an end to the signed agreements and clearly contradicts the United Nations Security Council resolutions, especially Resolution 2334, which considers all settlements illegal in all occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.

The Presidency believes that these unilateral measures will not grant the occupation any legitimacy over the land of the State of Palestine, nor will they change the legal and historical fact that the West Bank, including East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, is occupied Palestinian territory according to international law and international legitimacy.

The Presidency called on the international community, led by the United Nations Security Council and the U.S. administration, to intervene immediately to halt these dangerous Israeli measures and compel the occupation to comply with international legitimacy resolutions and international law to achieve de-escalation and stop the escalation.
